Pricing FAQs

 Is there a minimum budget?

For a single professional comedian at a private event, plan on $1,500 and up. For fundraisers with tight budgets, talk to us – we occasionally have options.

Do you offer discounts for multiple comedians or weeknight dates?

Sometimes. Two-comic lineups and off-peak dates (think January through March, Sunday to Thursday) can come in lower. Ask for a quote and we’ll be straight with you.

What if our event gets cancelled or rescheduled?

Your contract covers it. Deposits are generally non-refundable (the date was held for you, and the comic has turned down other offers to honour yours), but we’re reasonable people – talk to us and we’ll work something out, especially on reschedules.

Do we need to provide sound and lighting?

If there is a need for equipment, just ask and we’ll send you a short technical checklist.

How far in advance should we book?

December: as early as you can. Stampede week: by spring. Everything else: 6-8 weeks is comfortable, though we’ve pulled off miracles with less.

How Much Does It Cost to Hire a Comedian?

Straight Answers on Pricing

Your exact quote depends on four things: which comedian you book, your event date (December and Stampede week are peak), your location, and the length of the set.

What Affects the Price?

  • The act. Headliners with TV credits and festival pedigrees sit at the top of the range.
  • The date. Friday and Saturday nights in December book first and price accordingly.
  • Travel. We build travel into your quote – no surprise line items later.
  • Set length. Most events book 45-60 minutes. Shorter awards-show spots can cost less – ask us.

What’s included

Every booking includes the comedian’s arrival ahead of showtime, a quick coordination with your MC or planner, and the performance itself. Many of our comics will also customize a few light references to your company or industry – just ask when you book.

Deposits and payment

We take a deposit to lock your date (typically via e-transfer, cheque, or credit card), with the balance due around the event. Your quote will spell it all out – no hidden extras, ever.
